We were so honored to partner with Project CARA to host a private screening of Stan Wright’s documentary Original Body of Pain – Documentary last week. It was a powerful experience for all who attended; and we’d like to thank the staff at Project CARA, Stan Wright, and all of our members who helped make the event possible.
About the film: When people with addictive disorders become pregnant, recovery becomes a family affair, rife with fear, guilt and judgment. “Original Body of Pain” follows two such families affected by the American opioid crisis, infant drug exposure and personal traumas. Meanwhile, Joanna Kristoff – a neonatal nurse – struggles to make a difference in a community with an unrelenting demand for her help.
You’ll have the opportunity to attend a public screening of the film in Asheville later this summer.
