ASHEVILLE, NC—The Junior League of Asheville, Inc. is pleased to announce the upcoming 3rd Annual Volunteer-a-Thon on April 22nd at five locations throughout the greater Asheville area. The Volunteer-a-Thon will bring League members and community volunteers together through hours of service with area nonprofits. The League also uses the event as its spring fundraiser. The funds raised from this event will directly support the programs of the Junior League of Asheville.
Junior League of Asheville President, Laura Herndon, had this to say about the event: “We are grateful to have the opportunity to partner with local organizations for our third annual Volunteer-a-Thon. This day of service embodies the mission of the Junior League of Asheville to improve our community through the effective action of trained volunteers. The day gives League members the opportunity to share our Mission with the community and give back in a very meaningful way.”
Volunteers will contribute their time and effort at five diverse locations this year:
- The Council on Aging
- Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families
- MANNA FoodBank
- The Rathbun House
- Asheville Humane Society
The Junior League of Asheville is currently seeking donations and volunteers for this event. Donations can be monetary, or in the form of supplies needed to complete the projects on April 22nd. Supplies needed include painting, gardening, and cleaning supplies as well as tools and perennial plants.
